dog massage

Why massage?

Massage is soft tissue manipulation, It promotes health and wellbeing, relieves pain, improves flexibility and range of motion. It is beneficial for all types of dogs whether they are working or your furry best friend.

Other benefits include: improved circulation, healthy skin and coat, release of endorphins, reduction of muscle wastage, relaxation, reduced stiffness and prevention of injury.

Massage also helps with injuries and ailments such as arthritis, hip dysplasia, cruciate ligament repair and other post-operative care

Postoperative care

After an operation, massage can aid and speed up the healing process. It stimulates the lymphatic and circulatory system, reducing oedema, inflammation, and reducing muscle wastage. Gentle rehabilitation can help to reduce stiffness and encourage mobility.

I provide an individual rehabilitation plan to help you to improve your dog’s mobility after surgery and to encourage use of the injured area.

What to expect

The initial consultation usually lasts 1 hours and would be at your home as this is where your dog will be most relaxed. I will take your dog’s history and do both a standing and gait movement analysis. The massage itself lasts between 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the dog’s temperament and size.
